Cascade Middle School OR eighth-grader Emma Gates, representing Salem Track, cleared 5-5 (1.65m) to win the Nike Boise Indoor girls high jump over Tori Sloan of Mountain View and Idaho Dash Track Club based on fewer misses at Jacksons Track at Idaho Ford Center. Gates, who won the 2016 USATF Junior Olympics national high jump title in the 11-12 division, produced the top clearance in the country by an eighth-grader this year.
